BOV Division 1: Pembroke join St. Andrews on top

A goal four minutes in added time enabled Pembroke Athleta to beat Rabat Ajax 1-0 and join St. Andrews on top the BOV First Division table as the latter were held in a goalless draw by Gudja United on Saturday.

Glenn Azzopardi’s goal on the 94th minute therefore gave Pembroke three important points and inflicted on Rabat a fourth consecutive defeat.

Zurrieq earned a precious point in a goalless draw with Fgura United who fall six points behind the two joint-leaders, although they are still third.

In another match, Mqabba and Lija Athletic shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Pembroke and St. Andrews lead the way with 46 points, followed by Fgura on 40, Gudja and Melita 38, Gzira 36, Vittoriosa 35, St. George’s 34, Lija 32, Mqabba 30, Rabat 22, Zurrieq 19, Msida 14 and Birzebbuga 12.
