Pietà Hotspurs hope to end their disappointing run of four consecutive defeats as they take on Mosta in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Friday at the Hibernians Stadium.
The Hotspurs lie second from bottom on twelve points, together with Zebbug, one ahead of Tarxien. Mosta, on the other hand, are currently eighth on seventeen points and lost four out of the last five matches. In their last outing, Pietà lost 0-3 to Balzan while Mosta suffered a 0-5 defeat to Hibernians.
Mosta defeated Pietà 1-0 and 3-1 in the previous rounds.
Meanwhile in the second match, Qormi will be aiming for another positive result as they take on second-placed Birkirkara after collecting two points in draws with Floriana and Sliema Wanderers. Mark Miller’s side lies two points ahead of Pietà and Zebbug and three ahead of bottom-placed Tarxien.
However it will be no easy task as Birkirkara hope to keep the pace with leaders Hibernians with another win. They won five out of the last six matches to extend their unbeaten run to sixteen matches.
Birkirkara registered two 2-0 wins over Qormi this season.
