Qrendi and Kirkop United were promoted to Division 2 as they moved eight points and seven points respectively ahead of Santa Lucia and Attard.
Qrendi earned the point they needed in a 2-2 draw with Santa Lucia. Antoine Sacco put Qrendi ahead on the 12th minute but Mohammed Senussi was quick to equalise two minutes later and the same player made it 2-1 for Marco Grech’s side eight minutes from time. However Denis di Maio levelled matters on the 87th minute.
Kirkop United defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 2-0 thanks to goals by Matthew Caruana on the 41st and Michael Zammit on the 73rd.
Attard lost 1-2 to Marsaskala. Denis Sytnic converted a penalty five minutes from the end of the first half and the same player doubled the score in added time before the end of the first half. Malcolm Tirchett scored a consolation goal for Attard nine minutes from time.
Mtarfa suffered a shock 1-5 defeat to Marsaxlokk. Thomas Grech was the hero for the Southseasides as he put them ahead on the 3rd minute and although Gary Caruana equalised on the 12th, Grech scored another two on the 32nd and 45th. Ryan D’Amato made it 4-1 on the 58th with Dylan Attard adding another two minutes from time.
Ta’ Xbiex and St. Venera Lightnings shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Nicholas Abela put Ta’ Xbiex ahead on the 7th but five minutes in the second half, Darren Farrugia equalised. Andrew Xuereb restored the lead on the 70th but Andrew Hili restored equilibrium two minutes in added time.
Two late goals were the main highlight as Kalkara vs Mdina Knights ended in a 1-1 draw. Mdina took the lead thanks to a goal by Vaughan Barnes two minutes from time but three minutes in added time, Lizio Grech equalised for Kalkara.
Mgarr lead the way with 48 points, followed by Kirkop on 46, Qrendi 45, Santa Lucia and attard 38, Marsaskala and Mtarfa 33, Sta. Venera 31, Kalkara 26, Mdina 22, Marsaxlokk 17, Luqa 14 and Ta’ Xbiex 7.
