Malta international defender Andrei Agius pledged his future to champions Hibernians by signing a four-year deal.
Agius had joined the Paolites last summer after spending ten years abroad – apart from a short spell with Birkirkara in the latter part of season 2010/11.
He started his career with Santa Lucia and moved to Sliema before travelling to Serbia to join FK Zemun in 2004. The following season, he joined Sporting Mascalcuia in Italy. He then signed for Messina but spent most of the time on loan with AC Martina Franca and Igea Virtus. After a spell with Cassino, he joined Melfi but in January 2011, he returned to Malta, joining Birkirkara. Agius returned to Italy the following summer and played for Latina with whom he managed to secure promotion to the Serie B. He started last season with Torres but moved to Aprilia in January.
