Clayton Failla on trial with Hull City

Malta international defender Clayton Failla was included as a substitute in a friendly match between Hull City and Hannover 96 at the Zell Am See stadium in Austria as part of his trial with The Tigers.

Hull manager Steve Bruce gave Failla a run-out in the final twenty-five minutes and his performance was described as “lively” in match reports.

A product of St. Patrick, Failla made his Premier League debut with the Zabbar side during season 2004/05 but was transferred mid-way through the season to Hibernians. In summer 2009, he moved to Sliema Wanderers where he spent two years before moving back to Hibernians in 2011.

With the Paolites, he won two Premier League championships, four FA Trophies and one Super Cup. He also won another Super Cup with Sliema. Clayton Failla was voted Footballer of the Year in 2008/09 and 2011/12.

Hull will be playing in the Championship after being relegated from the Barclays Premier League at the end of last season.
