A brace by Luca Casha gave Qrendi a 2-0 win over Msida St. Joseph at the Luxol Stadium in one of six matches from the BOV Second Division. The former Floriana and Lija striker opened the score five minutes in the second half and doubled the score on 71 minutes.
In another match, Zejtun Corinthians scored two late goals to beat Swieqi United 2-0. Adrian Carabott put Zejtun ahead ten minutes from time and one minute in added time, Jair Nelson Escobar Ortiz doubled the score.
Marsa defeated Zurrieq 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Paul Chimezie put Marsa ahead on 17 minutes and Gilbert Martin doubled the score on 74 minutes.
Mellieha and Gharghur shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Ryan Cutajar gave Mellieha the lead on 23 minutes but Ayrton Buhagiar levelled matters for Gharghur on 77 minutes.
At the Sirens Stadium, Siggiewi beat Kirkop United 2-0. Nathan Caruana put Siggiewi ahead six minutes in the second half and Mark Camilleri added another on 67 minutes.
In another match, Zabbar St. Patrick scored three first-half goals to beat Mgarr United 3-0.
Marsa, Qrendi and Sirens are the only three teams with maximum points after two matches, followed by Mellieha, Zabbar and Gharghur on 4, Siggiewi and Zejtun 3, Birzebbuga and Mgarr 1, Kirkop and Mgarr 1, Kirkop, Swieqi and Msida 0 and Zurrieq -2.
