Comfortable win for Birkirkara

Birkirkara moved three points behind the leaders as they registered a most comfortable 4-0 win over St. Andrews at the National Stadium.

For St. Andrews, this was the seventh defeat in as many matches and continue to share the bottom place together with Naxxar Lions.

Birkirkara took the lead on the 13th minute when they were awarded a penalty after goalkeeper Diego Rossetto floored Cain Attard inside the area and from the penalty spot, Fabrizio Miccoli converted.

Eight minutes in the second half, Fabrizio Miccoli doubled the score when he concluded a good move by exchanging the ball with Liliu before hitting past the St. Andrews goalkeeper.

Vito Plut made it 3-0 five minutes later, heading the ball home off a cross by Gareth Sciberras.

Five minutes from time, substitute Juan Quero could have added another but was unlucky to hit the upright but the same player was the provider for Ellinton Antonio Costa Morais who placed the ball at the back of the net.
