After losing their first two matches, Lija Athletic continued their recovery with a third consecutive win in the BOV First Division as they defeated Mqabba 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium. A win which puts them in third place, leaving Mqabba at the bottom of the table together with San Gwann.

Ige Abdullahi Adeshina gave Lija an early lead on the 6th minute and Jorge Garcia Vidal doubled the score on the 45th.

Gzira lead the way with 12 points, followed by Zebbug on 10, Lija 9, Senglea, Rabat and Hamrun 7, Melita 6, Fgura, St. George’s, Vittoriosa and Pietà 4, Gudja 3, San Gwann and Mqabba 2.
