FIFA Futsal Referee Franco Cachia has been invited to join Europe’s top 35 Futsal Referees for the 9th UEFA Course for European International Futsal Referees (3 – 5 November 2015) shortlisted for Futsal EURO 2016 being held in Serbia next February.

The aims of this 3-day intensive course taking place at the Serbian FA Sports Centre in Stara Pazova, are to prepare the top match officials for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2016; build team spirit for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2016; provide all participants with technical instructions and to reach a uniform interpretation and application of the Laws of the Game; further enhance the network of international futsal referees; give advice on maintaining necessary fitness levels (including fitness test); issue criteria to assist the decision-making process on key situations and exchange viewpoints.

The selected referees will have to pass the FIFA fitness test; also, as a FIFA requirement, they will be tested on their knowledge of English.

The course will be under the supervision of UEFA Officials Ángel María Villar Llona, Chairman, and Kyros Vassaras, member, of the Referees Committee; while physical trainers Prof. Dr. Werner Helsen, Joao Dias and Milan Radakovic will be Support Staff.
