Georgios Alexander Nilsson Likourentzos, better known as Alex Nilsson, joined Tarxien Rainbows after signing an eighteen-month deal with the club.
The 23-year old striker has been playing in Malta for the past year after joining Qormi in the January 2015 transfer window, leaving a very good impression. He scored five goals in eight matches last season and six in fourteen matches this season. However his contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier this week.
Nilsson made his debut for top Swedish side Malmö FF in 2008 when he was still a fifteen year old. In 2009, he had a spell on loan with IFK Malmö and on his return, he spent three years at the club. In 2013, he was loaned to Landskrona BoIS and in 2014 to Trelleborgs FF.
Alex Nilsson is the third signing for the club this transfer window after the Rainbows secured the services of Claudio Frances and Ryan Spiteri.
