Marsa moved on top the BOV Second Division table following a 2-0 win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s while Sirens were held in a draw by Zabbar St. Patrick on Sunday.
Goals by Gilbert Martin on the 2nd minute and Benjamin Ayuba on the 42nd gave Marsa a 2-0 win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s at the Charles Abela Stadium. On the other hand, at the Sirens Stadium, Sirens and Zabbar St. Patrick shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
Kirkop United defeated bottom-placed Msida St Joseph 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Matthew Caruana put Kirkop ahead on the half-hour and Josef Felice doubled the score on the 66th.
On the other hand, a brace by Lazar Doric gave Mgarr United a 2-1 win over Swieqi United at the Sirens Stadium. Kenneth Ekezie put Swieqi ahead one minute in the second half but Doric equalised two minutes later and notched the winner eight minutes from time.
Marsa lead the way with 36 points, followed by Sirens on 35, Gharghur 34, Zabbar 29, Siggiewi 25, Zejtun 24, Birzebbuga 23, Qrendi 22, Mgarr 21, Mellieha and Swieqi 19, Kirkop 18, Zurrieq 6 and Msida 5.
