Under-19 side to take part in Torneo Roma Caput Mundi

The Malta Under-19 national team is currently in Italy to take part in the tenth edition of the Roma Caput Mundi tournament. Malta will be playing in Group B along with Albania, C.R. Lazio and Wales. England, Greece, Italy (Lega Nazionale Dilettanti) and Romania are playing in Group A.

Malta plays Albania on Monday at the Stadio Andrea Caslini in Colleferro, the Lazio regional selection at the Stadio Roberto Abbafati in Lariano on Tuesday and Wales at the Stadio Le Rose in Genazzano on Thursday.

The players selected by Under-19 coach Wayne Attard and his assistant Peter Pullicino are:
goalkeepers Andreas Vella (Qormi) and Jacob Chircop St John (Pietà);
defenders Justin Vella (Sliema), Nick Ghio (Pietà), Gavin Schranz (Melita);
midfielders Kurt Shaw (Sliema), Jan Busuttil (Pietà), Kieran Xuereb (Hibs), David Xuereb (Hibs), Myles Beerman (Manchester City), James Scicluna (Pietà), Jamie Zerafa (Balzan), Gianluca Sultana (Vittoriosa), Kyle Gatt (Mosta);
forwards Russell Fenech (Valletta), Zachary Brincat (Mosta), Paul Lapira (Balzan) and Omar Elouni (Sliema).

Wayne Attard is in fact once again in charge of the Under-19 side following the departure of David de Sousa Nascimento who led the team in the UEFA Under-19 Championship mini-tournament last November.
