Marsaxlokk secured promotion to Division 2 after defeating Marsaskala 5-1 in one of the six BOV Third Division matches in programme on Saturday.
Attard and Ghaxaq moved second and third respectively as they both registered wins at the Charles Abela Stadium. A goal by Jurgen Gerada on the 28th minute gave Attard a narrow win over Mtarfa while a penalty by Florin Anton on the 72nd gave Ghaxaq a 1-0 win over Ta’ Xbiex.
Santa Lucia scored three in the second half as they beat Luqa St. Andrew’s at the Sirens Stadium. Mohammed Telessi opened the score on the 51st and Gilbert Camilleri doubled the lead ten minutes later. Camilleri sealed the issue with a penalty on the 75th.
Dingli Swallows beat Kalkara 6-2 at the Sirens Stadium. Goals by Kayne Said on the 39th, Joshua Sciarrino on the 46th and Christian Schembri on the 55th put the Swallows three goals ahead, Lizio Grech reduced the gap on the 61st but Dingli scored twice through Schembri on the 66th and Matthew Borg on the 73rd. Jacob Camilleri converted a penalty on the 76th but Luke Borg made it 6-2 on the 87th.
In another match, Xghajra Tornados and St. Venera Lightnings shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium.
Marsaxlokk lead the way with 49 points, followed by Attard on 47, Ghaxaq 45, Mdina and Santa Lucia 44, Dingli 41, Marsaskala 33, St. Venera and Xghajra 23, Luqa 21, Kalkara 18, Mtarfa 13 and Ta’ Xbiex 12.
