Two defeats for Malta Under-17 to Czech Republic

MFAThe Malta Under-17 side, led by Silvio Vella, suffered two defeats to the Czech Republic in two friendly matches away from home. Two matches which formed part of the team’s preparation ahead of the UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifiers in programme next month.

In the first match at the Kyjov Stadium on Tuesday, two second-half goals gave the Czech Republic a 2-0 win.

MALTA Rashed Al-Tuni Rashed, Romario Camilleri, Miguel Aquilina, Alexander Justin Thake (55′ Nicholas Farrugia), Dejan Debono, Marcus Grima, Mattia Zarb (67′ Lian Formosa), Mark Desira (48′ Dimech), Kyle Robert Mifsud (70′ Clyde Bouvett), Andrei Spiteri, Ayrton Attard (74′ Alexander Satariano).

On Thursday, the Czech youngsters dominated at the Breclav Stadium, taking a three-goal lead within the first sixteen minutes. Malta pulled one back through Andrei Spiteri but in the second half, the hosts added another three goals to win 6-1.
