Clubs whose players formed part of the Malta national team during the European Qualifiers leading to the EURO 2016 in 2014 and 2015. This means that altogether local clubs will be receiving the sum of around €800,000.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by UEFA and the European Club Association, UEFA agreed to distribute every four years an amount from the European Championship to national associations for them to pass on to their clubs who have contributed to the successful staging of the competition with the payments made on a “per day per player” basis. UEFA had a budget of €50 million for the EURO 2016.
