BOV Division 2: Fine win for San Gwann

BOV-Second-DivisionSan Gwann registered a fine 4-0 win over Gudja United at the Sirens Stadium in one of the six BOV Second Division matches in programme on Saturday.

In the clash between two teams who were relegated from Division 1 last season, an own goal on the 25th minute paved the way for San Gwann who doubled the score on the 32nd minute through Jan Tanti. Abeeb Abiodun Williams made it 3-0 six minutes later and the same player added another on the 68th.

In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Qrendi and Siggiewi shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, goals by Dassier Sammut for Qrendi and Shaun Bugeja for Siggiewi.

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s and Mgarr United earned a point each in a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.

St. George’s and Mellieha shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in another match at the Centenary Stadium. Jonathan Cutajar put Mellieha ahead on the 3rd minute but Chike Anthony Eze equalised three minutes in added time. Emerson Amaira made it 2-1 for St. George’s on the 73rd but Shamison Farrugia restored equilibrium with a goal for Mellieha ten minutes from time.

Three goals were scored within the first ten minutes as Swieqi United beat Attard 2-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Bruno Pinheiro Menezes opened the score after just two minutes and Roderick Taliana made it 2-0 on the 6th with Nick Ghio reducing the gap on the 10th.

A penalty by Juan Carlos Viera Peixoto four minutes in added time enabled Ghaxaq to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Marsaxlokk at the Charles Abela Stadium. Sergio Hili had put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 23rd minute.
