Luqa St. Andrew’s registered an impressive 7-0 win over Mdina Knights in one of the two BOV Third Division matches on programme on a Friday at the Centenary Stadium. This was the first win for Luqa and first defeat for Mdina after two wins in the first two matches.

Jason Good opened the score on the 10th minute and five minutes later, Lydon Sciberras doubled the score. Lee Baldacchino then scored twice on the 28th and 35th before Andrew Vella made it 5-0 just before half-time. In the second half, Lee Baldacchino added another on the 56th with Andy Portelli scoring the seventh goal seven minutes later.

In another match, Mtarfa collected their first three points as they defeated Dingli Swallows 3-2. Luke Galea converted a penalty to put Dingli ahead on the 17th minute but Marian Mohammed Ali Alfarjani equalised seven minutes from the end of the first half. Luke Galea restored the lead for Dingli four minutes in the second half but a three minutes later, Jamie George Zammit made it 2-2 and an own goal on the 90th minute handed Mtarfa the three points.

Msida and Sta. Venera lead the way with 9 points followed by Kalkara and Mdina on 6, Santa Lucia 5, Luqa and Xghajra 4, Dingli, Ta’ Xbiex, Kirkop, Mtarfa and Zurrieq 3, Marsaskala 0.
