Birkirkara move top in BOV Women’s First Division

BOV-Women-First-DivisionHibernians dropped their first points in the BOV Women’s First Division after losing 0-1 to rivals Birkirkara at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday. A result which puts the Stripes on top, one point ahead of the Paolites.

Stephania Farrugia scored the all-important goal when she converted a penalty six minutes in the second half.

A goal by Rebecca D’Agostino on the 36th minute gave Mgarr United a narrow win over Raiders (Luxol) at the Charles Abela Stadium on Tuesday. On teh other hand, at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday, Kirkop United defeated Gozo FC 2-1. An own goal after just 7 minutes put Kirkop ahead and Liis Pello doubled the score two minutes in the second half. Maria Farrugia converted a penalty on the 78th minute to reduce the gap.

BOV-Women-Second-DivisionIn the BOV Women’s Second Division, Swieqi United registered their third win as they beat Mosta 3-0 at the Zebbug Ground.

Emma Moore opened the score on the 23rd minute, Amy Galea Gingell made it 2-0 on the 59th and Aleksandra Georgieva sealed the issue with a third goal two minutes in added time.

On the other hand, at the Mgarr Ground, Hamrun Spartans defeated Kirkop United Team B 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick by Christiane Ortiz on the 15th, 50th and 62nd and a goal by Raissa Grixti on the 25th.
