Senglea Athletic left it for the second half to score three goals and beat Sirens 3-0 in one of the two BOV First Division matches at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
Player-coach Pablo Doffo opened the score on the 56th minute and four minutes later, Jamie Pace doubled the score. Juninho Cabral sealed the issue with a third goal on the 76th minute.
In another match, Qormi registered a third successive win as they beat Melita 2-1. Darko Medic put Qormi ahead seven minutes from the end of the first half. Ivan Tufegdzic converted a penalty to level matters on the 71st but two minutes from time, Lawrence Chiedozie notched the winner for Qormi.
Senglea lead the way with 13 points, followed by Naxxar on 12, Vittoriosa and Mqabba 10, Qormi 9, Sirens, Gharghur, Fgura, Rabat and Lija 7, Pietà 6, Zebbug and Melita 5 and Marsa 3.
