Gzira stay four points clear of Pembroke after goalless draw

Gzira United and Pembroke Athleta earned a point each in a direct clash between two teams in the relegation zone at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

A result which leaves the Maroons four points ahead of Pembroke with the latter now sharing the bottom spot with Mosta on the nine-points mark.

Pembroke had one change from the team which drew with Hibernians as Asani Djeljilj replaced Oleksandr Maksymov. Moises Avila Perez and Tony replaced Jacob Borg and the suspended Souleymane Damoutene.

Both sides had their fair share of scoring opportunities with Pembroke going close early in the game through Akuta and later by Manevski with Gzira replying with attempts by Jallow. The latter had another good opportunity early in the second half but headed high.

Five minutes from time, Pembroke had Ugochukwu Akuta sent off for hitting Moises Avila Perez.
