Three new players for Gzira United

Gzira United secured the services of three new players, namely Ige Abdullahi Adeshina, Louis Rene Zome and Emerson Amaira.

Nigerian-born Ige Abdullahi Adeshina moved to Malta a decade ago to join SK Victoria Wanderers in Gozo. However in summer 2011, he moved to Lija Athletic where he has been playing since then. Adeshina joins the Maroons on loan in exchange for Yanis Tonna who will join Lija for the rest of the season.

Cameroonian striker Louis Rene Zome starts his second spell at the club after joining Gzira in the latter part of last season, scoring nine goals in Division 1. Earlier this season, he played for Victoria Hotspurs in Gozo.

St. George’s captain Emerson Amaira also joins Gzira United on loan until the end of the season. Amaira has always played for St. George’s apart from a season on loan with Vittoriosa Stars.

Meanwhile Gambian striker Momodou Salieu Jallow was released by the club after joining the Maroons in November.
