AC Milan’s Andrea Icardi to visit Balzan Academy this weekend

Balzan Academy is pleased to announce that former AC Milan player Andrea Icardi, now a professional youth coach with Milan Academy, will be in Malta again to run training sessions for boys at Balzan’s facilities for age groups born between 2002 to 2010 on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April.

Balzan President Anton Tagliaferro said “Andrea’s has been the Head Coach at Milan Academy in Australia for over 6 years – he has developed a great reputation in the professional and enthusiastic way in which he trains young players. Andrea’s visits to Malta are a great opportunity for him to help Maltese boys develop their football and for them to train with a truly great professional coach.’

Andrea Icardi visits Malta after having recently had teams from Milan Academy, including six boys from Balzan, participate in professional youth tournaments in Italy earlier in April.

Icardi added “I love visiting Malta as I am always impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm shown by so many boys here with their football and their willingness to learn and improve their technique. The six Balzan boys who joined my teams in the tournament in Italy earlier this month all made a great effort and left a very good impression. I am confident I can find more boys who are capable of contributing to teams I will be taking to Italy to play in other tournaments later this year.”
