BOV Division 1: Pietà register second win

Pietà Hotspurs registered their second win in the BOV First Division as they defeated Zebbug Rangers 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium in one of the four matches in programme on Sunday.

Lawrence Chiedozie opened the score two minutes in the second half and Clive Gauci sealed the issue with a second goal four minutes in added time.

In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Qrendi and San Gwann shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Zabbar St. Patrick registered their first win as they defeated Melita 3-2 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Toraino Singleton put the Amateurs ahead on the 10th minute but a brace by Kurt Borg late in the first half – on the 39th and two minutes in added time turned the score in favour of St. Patrick. Luke Micallef converted a penalty on the hour to equalise but Kurt Borg was on target once again fifteen minutes from time to hand Zabbart the three points.

A goal by Diego Albanese on the 23rd minute gave Zejtun Corinthians their first win as they defeated Rabat Ajax 1-0 in another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Pietà and Qormi lead the way with maximum points from two matches, followed by Zabbar, Zejtun and Vittoriosa on 4, Sirens and Zebbug 3, Qrendi and San Gwann 2, Mqabba 1, Marsa, Melita and Rabat 0 and Pembroke -8.
