Birkirkara claim Women’s Super Cup

Champions and Knock-Out winners Birkirkara continued where they had left last season as they lifted the Women’s Super Cup on Monday after defeating runners-up Hibernians 3-2 at the Centenary Stadium.

Ylenia Carabott converted a penalty to put Hibernians ahead on the 8th minute but Stephania Farrugia equalised on the 13th. Shona Zammit restored the lead on the 28th but an own goal on the hour restored equilibrium. Raina Giusti notched the winner for Birkirkara eight minutes later.
