The BOV First Division clash between Qrendi and Qormi at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday was abandoned mid-way through the first half by the referee after one of the goalposts ended up broken.
The score was 1-1 as Jose Lucas Caetano da Silva put Qormi ahead on the 12th minute and Dhonathan Santos da Hora levelled matters for Qrendi three minutes later.
Meanwhile in the first match, San Gwann and Melita shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Despite having two players sent off, San Gwann forged ahead on the 65th minute with a goal by Andrew Abela but Melita equalised thanks to a Luke Micallef penalty nine minutes from time. The Amateurs had a player sent off in the dying minutes.
In another match, Zabbar St. Patrick collected three precious points as they defeated bottom-placed Rabat Ajax 1-0. Despite having a player sent off early in the game, Kurt Borg converted a penalty on the 33rd minute to hand them the three points.
Qormi lead the way with 26 points, followed by Pietà on 24, Mqabba 22, Vittoriosa 18, Zebbug and Zejtun 17, Sirens 16, San Gwann 15, Qrendi 13, Melita 11, Zabbar 10, Marsa 7, Pembroke and Rabat 4. Pembroke had ten points deducted.
