Jake Grech scored twice as Birkirkara made it eight wins in a row, defeating Sliema Wanderers 2-1 at the National Stadium on Saturday.
A win which confirms the Stripes’ status as the most in-form side in the BOV Premier League. They conceded their first goal after maintaining a clean sheet in the previous seven matches. However this was not enough for the Wanderers to earn a positive result.
Birkirkara took the lead on the 24th minute thanks to Jake Grech who hit home from close range.
Ten minutes in the second half, the Wanderers equalised thanks to Nicolae Milinceanu whose powerful shot best Naumovski.
However the Stripes regained the lead on the 71st minute when Jake Grech, served by Andjelkovic, rounded the goalkeeper before placing the ball at the back of the net.
