Four teams battle against relegation in final matches

Three matches will be played on Friday, determining which who will be relegated to the First Division and who will face Zejtun Corinthians in the Premier League play-off.

Naxxar Lions face Senglea Athletic at the Centenary Stadium, Mosta take on Sliema Wanderers at the Hibernians Stadium while Tarxien Rainbows cross swords with St. Andrews at the National Stadium. All matches kick-off at 19:00.

St. Andrews, Mosta, Tarxien Rainbows and Naxxar Lions are battling to avoid relegation as St. Andrews and Mosta are currently on the 23-point mark, one ahead of Tarxien and four ahead of Naxxar.

A draw would be enough for St. Andrews in the clash with Tarxien to secure their status. In case of a defeat, they hope Mosta lose to Sliema in order to stay on level points with Mosta and a decider would be necessary to determine which team will face Zejtun Corinthians in the Play-Off.

With a win over Sliema, Mosta would make sure of securing their Premier League status but a draw would be enough should Tarxien fail to beat St. Andrews.

Tarxien have to beat St. Andrews to avoid relegation while with a draw, they would hope Mosta lose to Sliema – in which case, they would end on level points with Mosta and a decider would be necessary to determine which who will face Zejtun Corinthians in the Play-Off. In both cases, Naxxar would be relegated.

Naxxar need a win over Senglea and hope St. Andrews beat Tarxien in order to join them on level points. In that case, Naxxar and Tarxien would end their commitments on level points and a decider would be necessary to determine which team will be relegated and who will face Zejtun Corinthians in the Play-Off.

In the first round, Senglea defeated Naxxar 2-1, Tarxien beat St. Andrews 3-2 while Mosta held Sliema in a 1-1 draw.
