Birkirkara secured the services of Nicaraguan international striker Carlos Chavarria. Chavarria, who signed a one-year deal with Birkirkara, represented Nicaragua both at Under-20 and Senior level.
A product of Real Esteli FC, he scored 53 goals in 135 appearances. He has won the league title no less than six times with the Club and during the last season, he has scored eighteen goals.
On international level, he has made seven appearances while scoring three goals for the Under-20’s of Nicaragua, while he has played twenty-five matches and netted seven goals for the Senior Team. His last goal was on the 22 March 2018 in the 3-1 friendly match victory over Cuba.
Birkirkara have earlier signed Uchenna Calistus Umeh, Marcelo de Siqueira, Eduardo dos Santos, Fabiano Lima, Paul Fenech, Terence Agius and Michael Mifsud. Stanimir Miloskovic, who turned out for the Stripes in the UEFA Europa League Preliminary Round matches, has now joined Victoria Hotspurs in Gozo.
