The BOV Second Division League kicked-off on Wednesday with Mellieha and Zabbar St. Patrick both claiming maximum points at the Centenary Stadium.
Mellieha came from behind to beat Siggiewi 3-1. Marko Nicolic put Siggiewi ahead on the 24th minute but a brace by Ryan Cutajar on the 50th and 57th turned the score in favour of Mellieha with David Fenech converting a penalty three minutes from time.
On the other hand, Zabbar St. Patrick, who were relegated from Division 1 at the end of last season, registered a 3-0 win over Third Division champions Sta. Venera Lightnings. Clayton Camilleri put Zabbar ahead on the 41st minute. Kumpei Tanaka doubled the score five minutes in the second half and Alex Ellul sealed the issue with a third goal four minutes later.
