St. George’s registered their first win in the BOV Second Division as they came from behind to beat Kalkara 5-1 in one of the two matches at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.
Julian Spiteri gave Kalkara the lead on the 10th minute but Dylan Sammut equalised on the half-hour. Anthony Ewurum made it 2-1 on the 57th, Leeroy Bonett added another on the 64th and two minutes later, Nicholas Zammit scored a fourth with Anthony Ewurum making it 5-1 on the 79th.
Meanwhile Rabat Ajax joined Marsaxlokk in third place as they registered a second win, defeating Zabbar St. Patrick 3-2.
Dylan Gouder put Zabbar ahead on the 7th minute, Jean Scholey equalised on the 23rd but a Kumpei Tanaka penalty restored the lead on the 32nd. However Isaac Abela restored equilibrium in added time and the same player notched the winner on the hour.
Birzebbuga and Fgura lead the way with 7 points, followed by Rabat and Marsaxlokk on 6, St. George’s, Mgarr, Mellieha and Melita 4, Zabbar and Luqa 3, Siggiewi and Kalkara 1 and Sta. Venera 0.
