Heavy defeat for women’s Under-19 national team

The Malta women’s Under-19 national team suffered a heavy 0-9 defeat to England in a match from the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championsip Group 1 at the SRP Trate Nedelišće in Nedelišće, Croatia on Monday.

The Malta girls controlled their opponents during the first half-hour but Aimee Palmer managed to break the deadlock on the 32nd minute. Esme Beth Morgan doubled the score on the 38th and goals by Jessica Naz on the 44th and Aimee Palmer on the 45th put England four goals ahead before half-time.

Gabriella Ravenscroft extended the lead on the 62nd and Jessica Naz scored another two goals on the 74th and 81st before Amy Rodgers and Jessica Park scored the eighth and ninth goals on the 85th and 88th respectively.

Malta will be in action once again on Thursday as it faces Slovakia at the Gradski Stadion NK Podravina Ludbreg in Ludbreg
