Sliema target win to keep pace with Gzira

Sliema Wanderers will be aiming for the three points on Monday as they take on Hibernians at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 20:15.

The Blues are currently third on 16 points, six behind Gzira and two behind Valletta, having won five out of the seven matches played so far. In their last outing, they defeated Mosta 2-1.

Hibernians, on the other hand, are coming from three consecutive wins, having defeated St. Andrews, Tarxien and Hamrun. They share fourth place with Balzan, one point behind the Wanderers.

Meanwhile in the first match, kick-off at 18:00, St. Andrews face Senglea Athletic.

The Saints chase a third consecutive win after beating Birkirkara and Qormi with identical 2-0 scores. Lying joint-eighth with Floriana on nine points, St. Andrews would join Hamrun and Birkirkara in sixth place with a win over Senglea who are still chasing their first win after seven matches. In three matches, they collected just one point, scored three goals and conceded nineteen.

Senglea captain Ferdinando Salvati is ruled out through suspension.
