Stripes end first round with maximum points

Birkirkara registered a seventh win on the trot as they defeated Kirkop United 4-1 in a match from the BOV Women’s League at the Charles Abela Stadium on Thursday.

Ylenia Carabott put the Stripes ahead on the 3rd minute and Kailey Willis dobled the score on the 36th. Sarah Urpani made it 3-0 on the 56th and although Demi Magrin reduced the gap on the 72nd, Kelly Agius Pace restored the lead on the 88th.

A goal by Jade Flask twelve minutes from time handed Hibernians a narrow win over Swieqi United at the Charles Abela Stadium on Wednesday.

Mgarr United defeated Mosta 5-0 at the Mgarr Ground. Haley Bugeja scored twice to give Mgarr a two-goal lead – a goal on the 2nd and a penalty on the 32nd. Brenda Borg made it 3-0 before the end of the first half. Angelique Schembri increased the lead ont he 63rd and two minutes later, Brenda Borg scored a fifth goal.

On the other hand, Raiders (Luxol) beat Fgura United 3-1 at the Fgura Ground. Michaela Bonello Ghio scored on the 27th anad doubled the score on the 40th thanks to a penalty. Kylie Monaco pulled one back just before half-time but Bonello Ghio added another on the 55th.
