Malta international midfielder Paul Fenech is once again a Balzan FC player after agreeing to a return to the club from Birkirkara FC.
Fenech had left Balzan in June, joining Birkirkara on a three-year deal. The thirty-two year old midfielder made twelve appearances for the Stripes so far.
A product of Naxxar Lions, Paul Fenech joined Msida St. Joseph in summer 2005 but after two years with the club, he joined Birkirkara in June 2007. With the Stripes, he won all major honours, including two Premier League championships, one FA Trophy and one Super Cup and the MFA Footballer of the Year in 2013. Fenech joined Balzan in the January 2016 transfer window where he soon established himself as a key player in their squad.
Paul Fenech is the second player to join Balzan in the January transfer window after Bosnian defender Aleksandar Kosorić. On the other hand, Harry Ascroft, Alex da Paixao Alves and Yudai Miyamoto moved elsewhere.
