Balzan hope to extend positive run

Balzan will be hoping to extend their positive run in the BOV Premier League to seven matches as they take on Senglea Athletic at the National Stadium on Friday, kick-off at 19:00.

Marko Micovic’s side are unbeaten in six matches but they dropped six points in three draws over these six matches. A win is therefore a must in their bid to close in on the top three. They are currently joint-fifth on 27 points, seven behind joint-leaders Valletta and Hibernians.

Senglea, on the other hand, share the second place from bottom after back-to-back wins over Qormi and Mosta. Two games in which they scored seven goals in all and conceded none.

Balzan’s Nenad Sljivic and Steve Pisani and Senglea’s Matias Nicolas Garcia are ruled out through suspension.

In the first round, Balzan defeated Senglea 5-0.
