St. George’s bounced back from a shock defeat to Mellieha last week as they defeated Marsaxlokk 1-0 to join Fgura United on top the BOV Second Division table on Friday. Fgura, however, have a game in hand.

Anthony Ewurum scored the all-important goal on the 72nd minute.

In another match, Siggiewi and Melita shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Fgura and St. George’s lead the way with 44 points, followed by Mgarr on 42, Marsaxlokk and Birzebbuga 40, Melita 33, Rabat 28, Kalkara 20, Zabbar and Mellieha 19, Sta. Venera and Luqa 16 and Siggiewi 13.
