Birkirkara secured the services of Brazilian defender Jeferson De Sousa Ferreira. Jeferson signed a two-year contract with the club.

The twenty-three year old defender started his career at Feirense before joining Nacional in 2017. Since then, he had a short spell with Novoperário last year before moving back to the club.

The Stripes have earlier signed Enrico Pepe, Roderick Briffa, Miguel Angel Alba, Isaac Ntow, goalkeeper Nicky Vella, Renato Goncalves de Lima and Yannick Yankam while extending the contract of Michael Mifsud, Luke Montebello and Matthew Guillaumier.
