Luxol Futsal prepare for UEFA Futsal Champions League commitments

Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club coach Gabriel Dobre and his assistant Clint Cope have a strong 18-man squad for the UEFA Futsal Champions League Group F Preliminary Round challenge coming up in Norway at the end of this month.

The squad could further increase as the Maltese Champions are in advanced talks to announce a top Slovenian star with Serie A experience challenging for titles in Italy until last season.

Everton Vevé is the latest foreign signing thus far prior to this daunting challenge that nonetheless Luxol are ready to embrace in their pursue to win the group and emulate two season’s ago successful feat and proceed to the Main Round of competition.

Norway international keeper Kenneth Rakvaag is a noteable return following his terrific performance in goal two years ago for Luxol in Austria for the Preliminary Round, and the Main Round experience in Deva, Romania.

Another new signing this summer is well known local shot-stopper Stefan Vella who has just signed from arch-rivals Valletta.Luxol will also rely among others on the experience of Malta Futsal team captain Mark Zammit, and foreign players who enjoy vast experience in the game, with the likes of Celino Alves, Emil Andrei and Zvezdan Vukovic all confirmed following their remarkable contribution in the same competition two summers ago.

The 19-man squad will make the long trip to Tromsø, Norway early on Monday 26th of August, however the final 14-man squad will be announced shortly before the first game at the Tromsøhallen arena against San Marino champions FC Fiorentino.
