Fedrico Falcone joins Birkirkara

Birkirkara continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of former Valletta striker Federico Matias Falcone. Falcone signed a two-year deal with the club.

Falcone started his career with Newell’s Old Boys before moving to La Serena in Chile. He also played for Huachipato, AC Barnechea and Rangers Talca in Chile before joining Valletta in summer 2015. He left the Citizens mid-way through season 2016/17, joining Terengganu in Malaysia. In summer 2017, he moved to Portugal, joining Desportivo Aves but last summer moved to Boavista. Falcone, who is now aged 29, scored four in twenty-three league appearances with Boavista.

The Stripes have earlier signed Edison Luis dos Santos, Enrico Pepe, Roderick Briffa, Miguel Angel Alba, Isaac Ntow, goalkeeper Nicky Vella, Renato Goncalves de Lima, Jeferson De Sousa Ferreira and Yannick Yankam while extending the contract of Michael Mifsud, Luke Montebello and Matthew Guillaumier.

Last week, Birkirkara announced that the prohibition imposed by the Complaints Board of the Malta Football Association has been lifted with immediate effect.
