The Malta Under-17 national team ended its commitments with a win in Group C of the Trofeo Nereo Rocco to finish third in a group which included SSC Napoli, Pordenone Calcio and WAC Karnten.

In the first match on Tuesday, Malta lost 0-2 to Karnten while on Wednesday, Malta lost 1-2 to Napoli with Andrea Zammit scoring a penalty for Malta. On Thursday, a brace by Andrea Zammit handed Malta a 2-0 win over Pordenone.

This tournament served as preparation for the team led by Under-17 coach Noel Turner and his assistant Mark Marlow ahead of the 2019-20 UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifying round mini tournament in programme in October. Malta will be facing Austria, Bulgaria and Norway, who are hosting the UEFA tournament between October 17 and 23.
