Second half goals sink women’s national team in Sarajevo

A brace by captain Milena Nikolic handed Bosnia Herzegovina a 2-0 win over Malta in another match from Group B of the UEFA Women’s EURO qualifying round at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadion in Sarajevo on Tuesday.

Following the heavy defeat to Denmark last week, the Maltese showed considerable improvement against a team which defeated Georgia 7-1 in their opening game.

The first half ended goalless but Nikolic put the hosts ahead on the 72nd minute and doubled the score ten minutes from time. 

Malta’s next game is against Italy on October 4 at the Centenary Stadium.
