Champions Valletta take on eternal rivals Floriana in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Kicking-off at 20:00, this derby is of particular interest considering that Floriana are still unbeaten after winning the first two matches and another win on Sunday would put them alone on top of the BOV Premier League table. The Greens defeated Birkirkara and Balzan with identical 1-0 scores.

Valletta, on the other hand, suffered a shock 2-3 defeat to Santa Lucia in their first outing but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Sliema Wanderers.

Meanwhile the first match on Sunday, kicking-off at 18:00, is another derby – the one between newly promoted sides Gudja United and Santa Lucia.

Like Sirens, both teams had a dream start as they collected precious points from their first two outings. Gudja United held Hibernians in a 1-1 draw and Hamrun Spartans in a 2-2 draw. Santa Lucia, on the other hand, defeated Valletta 3-2 and held Gzira United in a goalless draw.

Jacob Walker is ruled out for Santa Lucia as he serves a one-match ban.
