Malta international midfielder Shona Zammit will be the first Maltese player to play in the Italian Serie A after joining ASD Pink Sport Time, better known as Pink Bari Calcio Femminile.
The twenty-three year old played for Mosta, Kirkop United and Hibernians throughout her career.
Pink Bari are playing in the Serie A for a third consecutive year after winning the Serie B in 2016/17. Last season, they finished second from bottom and were due to be relegated but following the withdrawal of ChievoVerona Valpo and ASD Mozzanica, they were re-admitted to the Serie A.
In their first outing, Pink Bari held Sassuolo in a 3-3 draw.
Apart from Zammit, Nicole Sciberras and Martina Borg are also playing in Italy. Sciberras is playing for the Juventus primavera side while Borg plays for FC Sassari Torres Femminile in the Serie C.
