Second win on the trot for Birkirkara

Birkirkara registered their second win on the trot as they defeated wooden-spoonists Tarxien Rainbows 3-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.

The Stripes join Mosta in a mid-table position on the 13-point mark. Tarxien, on the other hand, remain at the bottom of the table without any points after eleven matches.

Birkirkara managed to take the lead four minutes from the end of the first half thanks to Isaac Ntow whose angled shot from the left beat the Tarxien goalkeeper.

Seven minutes in the second half, the Stripes doubled the score when off a cross from the left by Maurizio Vella, Federico Falcone headed home past Rudy Briffa.

Birkirkara were awarded a penalty on the 63rd minute when Tarabai was brought down inside the area by Destin Mambouana and from the penalty spot, Caio Henrique Prado converted.
