Mqabba and Swieqi United claimed precious points as both registered wins on Friday in two matches from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

In the first match, Swieqi United defeated St. George’s 4-0, courtesy of Ibrahim Salis on the 33rd, Felipe Nunes Fernandes on the 66th and stoppage time Goals by Roderick Taliana and Fernandes.

On the other hand, in the second match, Mqabba defeated St. Andrews 2-1.

Fabrizio Zammit put Mqabba ahead on the 66th minute and although Mattia Veselji equalised on the 77th, Alexsandro Ferreira notched the winner seven minutes from time.

Lija lead the way with 19 points, followed by Zejtun on 18, Pieta’ , Qrendi and St. Andrews 17, Naxxar 16, Zebbug 14, Swieqi 11, Mqabba and Pembroke 10, Qormi and St. George’s 9, Fgura and Vittoriosa 7.
