Valletta, Hibernians seek maximum points from direct clash

Valletta, Sirens and Hibernians seek maximum points on Sunday in their bid to keep the pace with BOV Premier League leaders Floriana and second-placed Gzira United.

In the first match at the National Stadium, kick-off at 14:00, bottom-placed Tarxien Rainbows take on Sirens, who share third place with Valletta. The Rainbows are still chasing their first win after losing their first eleven matches. Sirens, on the other hand, hope to bounce back with a win after a draw with Gudja in their last league outing.

In the FA Trophy, Tarxien lost 1-2 to Hamrun Spartans while Sirens reached the next round thanks to a 4-1 win over Kercem Ajax.

Sirens have been strengthened with the signing of Luke Grech and French striker Tagro Yves Yao. However Sergio Raphael dos Anjos is ruled out through suspension. Tarxien captain Daniel Zerafa is also serving a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the second match, kick-off at 16:00, Valletta take on Hibernians.

One point separates the two teams with Valletta sharing third place with Sirens and Hibernians lying fifth, one point behind.

Valletta won four out of the last five league matches while the Paolites won three out of the last four. In the FA Trophy, Valletta defeated St. Andrews 4-0 and Hibernians beat Zejtun Corinthians 3-0.
