Precious points will be at stake as Mosta take on Gudja United in a match from the BOV Premier League at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off at 19:00. The match, which brings to an end the first round, was originally scheduled for December 14.
Gudja share the ninth place with Sliema on the 14 point mark, followed by Mosta and Senglea on 13.
Gudja United will be hoping to extend their positive run to five matches as they face Mosta who are coming from four successive defeats.
Gudja won three out of the last four matches, claiming ten points in the process to climb from thirteenth to ninth. Mosta, on the other hand, suffered four defeats in as many matches and therefore lost ground, falling from sixth to eleventh. Therefore Mosta will be all out to return to winning ways.
Mosta released a number of players in the past days including Akeem Garnet Roach, Edin Murga, Serio Villareal and Mamadou Jallow. They signed Pedro Gusso from First Division side Lija Athletic.
Gudja could not count on the suspended Hubert Vella but Edison Bilbao Zarate and Nivaldo Rodrigues Ferreira could make their debut after joining the club this week. On the other hand, Alexandre Carlos Santana, Tariq Al Mahrooqi and Dylan Grima are no longer with the club.
