Thirty year old midfielder Marco Criaco is the third Hamrun Spartans player to join Gzira United in a few days after agreeing a deal to join the Maroons where he will re-unite with former Spartans coach Giovanni Tedesco.

Throughout his career, Criaco, who is now thirty years old, played for Pordenone, Bassano, Pergolettese, Racing Aprilia and Cosenza. He had joined Hamrun in November 2017.

The Maroons had earlier signed Wilfried Domoraud and Ryan Darmanin. Anthony Curmi and Karl Pulo returned with the club after spells with Senglea Athletic while Jefferson de Assis joined Fujairah Sports Club in Dubai.
