Ricardinho brace puts Sirens back on track

A brace by new signing Ricardo Silva Faria enabled Sirens to return on track as they defeated Mosta 2-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Sunday.

The St. Paul’s Bay side move, at least temporarily, in third place, six points behind leaders Floriana. Mosta, on the other hand, remain joint-eighth with Hamrun Spartans on the 19-point mark.

Following a goalless first half, Sirens took the lead on the 50th minute when off a cross by Ige Adeshina, Ricardo Silva Faria headed home past goalkeeper Andreas Vella.

Ricardinho doubled the score on the 75th minute when off an assist by Flavio Cheveresan, he hit low past Vella.

Two minutes later, Gabriel Aquilina was sent off for Mosta after receiving a second yellow card.
