Fgura United collected three precious points in the battle against relegation as they defeated Qrendi 3-1 in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday. 

Giovanni Galea put Fgura ahead on the 1st minute and although Jose Cleangelo Pereira equalised on the 9th, Galea restored the lead on the 22nd and Dennis Cartella added another one minute from the end of the first half.

In another match, Pieta’ Hotspurs held Lija Athletic in a 1-1 draw. Jose Lucas Caetano da Silva put the Hotspurs ahead on the 38th but Erjon Beu equalised on the 64th.

Zejtun lead the way with 32 points, followed by Lija on 30, Qrendi and St. Andrews 26, Naxxar 25, Pembroke 23, Naxxar 22, Pieta’ and Swieqi 20, Qormi and Zebbug 17, Fgura 16, Vittoriosa 15, Mqabba and St. George’s 14.
